Nexif Ratch Energy Projects in Philippines fast tracked by the Government

Philippines Board of Investments awards Green Lane Certificate to two its projects designating them as Strategic Renewable Energy Projects

Nexif Ratch Energy, a leading clean-energy Independent Power Producer (IPP) in the Asia Pacific Region, is pleased to announce a significant milestone in its commitment to sustainable development in the Philippines. In an award ceremony attended by Ceferino Perry S. Rodolfo, Undersecretary of the Philippines Department of Trade and Industry and Matthew Bartley, Nexif Ratch Energy Director and Chairman of its Development Committee, two of Nexif Ratch Energy’s projects in the province of Camarines Sur – a 500 MW near-shore wind project in San Miguel Bay and a 74 MWp solar project in Calabanga, were awarded the Green Lane Certificate of Endorsement by the Board of Investments of the Philippines (BOI), recognizing these projects as Strategic Investment under Executive Order 18. The endorsement would accelerate the issuance of permits and licenses by National Government Agencies and Local Government Units.

This endorsement underscores the shared vision of Nexif Ratch Energy and the Philippines Department of Energy to accelerate the adoption of clean energy to 50% by 2040 and reduce overall carbon emissions in the Philippines. The projects aim to harness the abundant natural resources of the region to generate clean and reliable electricity for local communities.

Nexif Ratch Energy’s Calabanga Solar Project, which is in the final stages of commissioning, and San Miguel Bay Wind Power Project, one of the country’s most advanced offshore wind projects, are developed as a part of the portfolio of more than 2.5 GW of solar and wind power in the Philippines.

“We are pleased to support the development of Calabanga solar project and San Miguel Wind Power Project as it is a significant capital investment that would create consequential economic contribution and positive environmental impact for the Philippines”, Mr Rodolfo.

“We are thrilled to support the Philippines Development Plan on the Green Lanes for Strategic Investments Initiatives” said Nexif Ratch Energy Director, Matthew Bartley. “By leveraging our expertise in renewable energy and the support of the BOI, we can make significant progress towards a more sustainable future for the Philippines” he added.

Renewable energy projects will not only contribute to energy security but also create job opportunities and stimulate economic growth in the region. Nexif Ratch Energy CEO, Cyril Dissescou remarked, “Through the deployment of clean technology and best practices in environmental stewardship, Nexif Ratch Energy is committed to minimizing the ecological footprint of its operations and maximizing positive social impact.”
